The New House

It has been an extremely crazy last couple of months.  We have officially moved to Granbury.  We have loved living in Keller and being centrally located to family, friends, shopping, church, etc.  We were both sad when the time came to actually load the moving truck and leave.  We brought Malachi home to that house and have had so many great memories there.  Like the fire in the kitchen after living in it a month (well that wasn't such a great memory, just a blessing we didn't burn the house down)!!!!
We were talking about all the renovations we had done, like replacing all the light fixtures, faucets, tile, refinishing the kitchen cabinets (I did them), getting the counter tops replaced, and tearing down all the wall paper and texturing.  When we replaced the light in the kitchen the wiring was weird so Justin had me hold a fire extinguisher while wearing my sunglasses on the opposite side of the kitchen, while he flipped the switch.  Much to our surprise it worked!!!  We have truly enjoyed that house but knew the time had come to move to Granbury and get a larger house for the future.

But on with the new right?!?!?!?

This was the day we signed the paperwork.  It is officially ours!!!

This is the front of the house.

This is a view of the kitchen from the dining area

Then den from the dining area.  The kitchen, den, and dining area are all one big open space.  The stairs lead to a playroom with a half bath that goes over the garage.

The living room.  The kids bedrooms and bathroom are to the left, the front door and master to the right.

We absolutely love the new house and large back yard.  Malachi loves all the room outside and his new room.

I'll post some pictures of it decorated later.

Moving Day

When moving day finally came we had lots of help.  I had to cancel going to Women of Faith with my parents church so we could move.  My dad, brother in law Willie and my mother in law came to help us move.  We rented the largest truck Uhaul had and everyone just knew that it was going to be large enough and we would have extra space.

Well.... I'll let the pictures do the talking.
This is what happened when I was trying to get a box of blankets down out of the attic.  We didn't know at the time I was pregnant, but when we found out, this little fall sure did scare us a lot!!  Luckily the garage door was up or there is no telling how badly I would have hurt myself.  We all thanked GOD extra hard that day.  I walked away with a scratched up leg and a very very sore body.

The truck, not full to the ceiling all the way to the end, but pretty close.

My Mother's Day present, yes as a matter of fact it is hanging out of the truck.

We filled the moving truck, Justin's truck, my dad's truck, Cindy's expedition and my expedition and we still had stuff in the house and I had given a lot away to Goodwill.

Never anticipate that moving day isn't going to take all day...because it always does.  I even had most of everything in boxes and ready to be loaded.  Oh well, we had fun and got the truck unloaded when we got to Granbury.

Malachi did sleep in our closet the first two nights, because his room didn't have a blind yet.  Don't worry it is a large closet.  The size of his old room!!!

One of these days...

I'll get caught up on here and begin documenting our life again.  I started this blog as a way to remember (other than scrapbooking, which I am way behind in too) of our wonderful family and all the adventures we are on.  This week at home I am hoping to get the playroom/craft area/mini office (for Justin) done and then maybe I'll have some time to get a good update!!!

Malachi at 9 Months

Malachi at 9 Months

Malachi is growing so fast and has hit so many milestones since turning 8 months old.  Malachi got his first haircut, crawled, pulled-up and started calling Justin Da-da, all in one weekend.  It was about a month later when he started saying Ma-ma.  What is so funny is that he had been saying da-da and ma-ma for a long time but never when looking at us.  So we didn't 'count it' until he looked at us and said it, we both were so excited to hear him call out for us!!!!

At his 9 month check up he weighed 21lbs 3oz, this keeps him in the 70-75th percentile.  He has always been in this range so his doctor was very pleased with this.  He was also 31 1/2 inches long.  When his doctor came in the room she was smiling and said she couldn't tell me what percentile he was in for his height because he was off the chart.  We have always known he was tall but I was very shocked to hear that.  I guess he is going to take after my dad, brother and grandfathers!!!

Malachi you love to play chase and laugh hysterically when your dad or I chase you.  You started blowing kisses, without the hand, you just do the kissing part!!!  You are walking around things while holding on and are thinking pretty hard about trying to walk on your own.  You also love to give hugs and smoochies.  You are very loving and really enjoy playing with other kids.  This week you started waving as well.  You are also trying to say hi and bye-bye.  I can not take you anywhere without someone stopping us and commenting on how beautiful your blue eyes are.  You must get those from your Pop and Numpy!!

When you turned 8 months old you graduated from WaterBaby 1 swim class and have started WaterBaby 2.  You love being in the water and swimming.  You have started jumping into the water on your own (while you are sitting down) and you can swim under the water for 7-8 seconds.  You are such a great kicker and come up smiling every time.  Your daddy and I are extremely proud of you and can't wait to see what else you can accomplish!!

We love you bunches Itsy-Bitsy!!!

Here are some more 9 month pictures

These last two pictures I have been taking every month of his life, they are getting more and more difficult to take because he is all over the place!!!

Mother's Day and Father's Day

Mother's Day

Last year on Mother's Day Justin made me feel very special.  He has to work that morning but got up and put my present in a bag and left it in the living room for me to find.  I didn't open it but really wanted too.  Here are some pictures from last year.

He bought me a Willow Tree Collectible Figurine.  It is the expectant mother.  It was the absolute best pregnant mother's day present ever.

For Father's Day I bought him a bunch of books about Sons and Fathers.  Here is his bag.  For some reason I can not find a picture of the books with him.

This year was absolutely amazing.  Justin was so sweet and caring.  He knows that I absolutely love a White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks.  But I only go if I have a gift card.  So he got up early before Malachi got up and went and got me coffee!!!

He then came home made the baby breakfast and made me breakfast as well!!  I did feed the baby so he could make breakfast.  Justin came in and got the baby and said he needed his help.  They were gone for like 30 minutes.  I couldn't figure out what is going on.  Then I was served my breakfast.

If you can't tell Justin made pancakes in the shape of Malachi's hand.  That is what took so long, Justin said it took for every to trace his hand.  Don't I have the best husband ever???

After Breakfast, I got my favorite gift for any occasion.  That would be a box of my favorite chocolate from Godiva.  Then it just kept going.  Justin and Malachi took me outside to the workshop for my 'real' present.

I got this beautiful swing that Malachi and I get to enjoy in the mornings.  This is not a picture from Mother's Day, but close enough.

Then we did our usual routine of church and then going to my Mom and Dad's for lunch.

Then we came home and took some pictures of us.

Father's Day

I wanted to make Justin' first Father's Day as special as he made Mother's Day so I had to have some help.  Justin has been wanting a Winchester 30-30 for a long time.  So I called my dad.  I have no real knowledge of guns and what they are worth.  My dad was awesome and helped me find the perfect gun for Justin.

I wrapped his gun in several layers of a thin bubble wrap and then put it in a long very skinny box, so he had no idea.

I also wanted to do something even more memorable, so Malachi and I went to work.
Thanks to Pinterest we found this really cute idea to make a salt dough and do a footprint.  However, we had to go above and beyond and do a hand print too.

Here they are in the oven.
Unfortunately Malachi was a little under the weather this week so we didn't get to finish it completely.  Now I have been waiting for Hobby Lobby to put their shadowboxes on 50% off.  Hopefully, we will be able to get it finished this week, since they are finally on sale!!!

Since Justin made exactly what I wanted to Mother's Day breakfast I decided to do the same.

This is what he wanted.
Two fried eggs, French Toast, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Starbucks, and Juice. To be cute I made his into a face.  Malachi even signed the card.

Here are the two most special and handsome men in my life.

Then as usual we went to my parents house.  It's always fun to see the kids playing.  This year Brandon and Ashley weren't there.  But we still had fun.  Payton and Bryson have discovered croquet and love playing.  So the boys all played and had a great time.

Bryson is such a well-mannered young boy.

Willie
What a good Pop, always playing with the boys.
They had so much fun playing, that I think this will have to be played again.  They all laughed so much and had a great time.

Kiss the Cook
What a great way to celebrate Mother's and Father's Day.  Having Malachi has been the best blessing GOD has ever given us.  Malachi is truly cherished and we couldn't be happier.
